The Toyota Technical Center, headquartered in Ann Arbor Township since 1974, is investing $150 million into a new research and development facility on 690 acres of land. The TTC currently employs 200 technicians, and projects to add 400 more in the new facility.

Hyundai America Technical Center is the North American technical center and is expanding their facility with an investment of $117 million to eventually employ 400 people who will conduct testing, engineering and research for Hyundai and Kia autos.

is a state-of-the-art testing facility and engineering laboratory that sprawls over 3,800 acres and employs 700 technicians. It is a key facility for DaimlerChrysler conducting comprehensive vehicle testing, cascading technical improvements throughout the corporation.
