SMALL BUSINESS & TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT CENTER (MI-SBTDC™)
Livingston County provides a full range of services for a variety of small businesses that are emerging and growing throughout Michigan – including new venture companies, existing small businesses, expanding businesses, new technology companies, and innovators. Services include business counseling, training, research and more. The Livingston County MI-SBTDC specializes in loan packaging, cash flow projections, and marketing for retail and service businesses.
LIVINGSTON ENTREPRENEURIAL GROUP UNITED FOR PROSPERITY! (LEGUP!)
LEGUP! is a collaborative effort between Cleary University, SCORE, the SBTDC, and the Howell, Brighton, and Hartland Chambers of Commerce, and is designed to help provide a "leg up" toward future success, LEG UP! (Livingston Entrepreneurs Group United for Prosperity) brings together new and established entrepreneurs for educational, networking and resource opportunities.
SCORE
SCORE provides free and confidential business advice and counseling tailored to meet the needs of small businesses.SCORE provides mentors, counseling, tools and workshops for start-ups and existing entrepreneurs.
AREA CHAMBERS
As an advocate for business, the chambers work collectively with entrepreneurs toward pivotal solutions and resources, providing access to networking, business exposure, site selection assistance, business counseling, and more.
PUBLIC LIBRARY RESOURCES
A number of libraries in the county offer centers that provide a core collection of business related materials and support, which include marketing, demographic and competitive intelligence, information specialists, and access to consultants such as SCORE counselors. The centers also offer Internet access, Office 2010, printing, faxing, copying, scanning, skyping, and a designated meeting and work space.
ANN ARBOR SPARK’S VIDEO LIBRARY
This resource offers a catalog of previous event presentations on marketing, legal issues, term sheets and other topics of interest to entrepreneurs. Titles that might be of interest include Entrepreneurial Contracts: Writing It Up for Startups, Funding 101, Live Your Brand, and Creating a Breakthrough Brand Name.
ANN ARBOR SPARK’S ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP
You'll spend two full days learning how to identify critical issues for your business plan. Entrepreneur Boot Camp is an intensive and instructive way to gain critical feedback and advice about your business model, management team, competitive positioning, market strategy and other key elements that determine if a start-up will succeed or fail. Based on advice received during camp, former Boot Campers have gone on to win business plan competitions, secured funding, improved their business model, and got connected to advisors and other key talent.
