Thursday, April 6, 2017 - 9:30am to 5:00pm
10255 Dexter-Pinckney Rd.Pinckney, MI 48169
This one-of-a-kind event is a hands-on experiential Capture The Flag (CTF) coupled with real time guidance through the tools and operating systems needed to successfully work through each challenge. Six different modules allow students to work through the fundamentals of hacking tools, techniques and methodologies and use open source tools to fire off live attacks on networked systems in real time.
The CTF is hosted on the nation’s largest unclassified training cyber range, and will allow students to perform live scans and exploits with no danger of leakage onto production networks. Each student will have a unique experience based on the methodologies they deploy and the systems they target, but students can expect to learn and deploy the concepts below. Participants that want to work at their own pace are encouraged to do so!
Topics Include But Not Limited To:
• Password Exploitation & Storage
• Traffic Sniffing & Manipulation
Alphaville is a one-of-a-kind virtual training environment that simulates the entire inter- connected ecosystem of a city. It is specifically designed to test cybersecurity skills in a real-time setting. It is the nation’s only unclassified range.
With a collection of hundreds of pre-configured virtual machines and networks, the MCR gives organizations access to a safe place to practice dangerous things. In conjunction with the Michigan Cyber Disruption Response strategy, the MCR helps protect all levels of the public and private sector by providing a realistic training environment. Alphaville consists of information systems, networks and physical structures that are found in any town or city. Each location in Alphaville has different operating systems, security priorities and multiple challenges for participants to encounter and overcome.
Alphaville offers access to a vast selection of the top open source pen testing and forensic tools to users.
Alphaville exercises can be leased for one day or longer. A type of scoreboard is available to track individual skills. MCR’s live and interactive 3D world gives a visual representation of the dangers of cyber-attacks as they unfold, while engaging participants as they watch cyber-attacks effect the virtual city. The 3D world representation helps engage observers and participants in what is happening inside the virtual environment. Being placed in a “real world” environment is what makes Alphaville exercises unlike anything else in the marketplace. There are numerous advanced exercise training options for companies to choose from, as well as custom exercises can be created upon request.
