CommunityThe City ofAnn Arbor and the University of Michigan are collaborating to bring Google’s Fiber for Communities to Ann Arbor.Washtenaw County is defined by diversity. Located in southeast Michigan, the county encompasses 27 cities, villages and townships, so settings range from urban to rural, and small town to suburban. Regional business, community and educational leaders have joined together in the development and execution of a multi-year community success plan. Diversity is reflected in the educational,recreational, and business opportunities as well. The population of the county is 325,000 and the two largest cities are home to two universities - the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. These schools bring a vitality to the region in every aspect of life. Cultural Ambassador Program The Cultural Ambassador Program, media campaign, and interactive event series will help enhance and promote a culture in our community that welcomes and embraces talent and ideas from all parts of the world, and helps create a climate for innovation and global competitiveness. To support these initiatives, Cultural Ambassadors will be appointed. To assist in developing and executing various initiatives, each Cultural Ambassador will recruit a team of 5-10 people that have direct experience with the region.
